feroza aircon as compressor

Post by jabboo »

since my fez does not have an air con
i was thinking of going to a wrecker, buying the compressor andanything else i needed, bolting it into the stock place and using it as a air compressor feeding a 18lt tank that i bought.

my question is ... besides the pulley, belt and compressor ....
what else would i need . to make it into an air compressor.
dont worry about the air compressor tech. just want to get it bolted on

next question is tehre any problem that is stoping me from conerting the compressor into an air compressor ?

No they are not the same.

Can I ask why you want to do this? Do you plan to run 44" tyres? :D
Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.

nah no huge tyres unfortunatley
i think my electric compressor has carcked it. so i thought why not set up an engine driven one since it will bolt straight in to where the air con should go .
plus ill learn something along the way

I'd be installing aircon and buying a decent electric compressor eg. Bushranger Maxair. :D

Do a search in the general tech; I think most people use "Sanden" aircon compressors.

is there anything wrong with the stock fez one ...
that way i dont have to muck around with making up brackets and finding the right belts ...
just bolt the stock one in place.

i dont mind not having an air con ..... never had one since ive started driving so im happy to stay that way .

my question is if i go and buy the fez one would it convert to a stock one ?

There's no reason a Feroza one wouldn't work; BUT can you imagine how much you'll get charged for a Feroza compressor compared to one off an old Falcon or the like???
