What does everyone think we should be able to start a bible for the GU.....

alot of similar questions have answered over and over again which i dont mind doing however some people might want there answers answered soon rather than later ..

simpel stuff like what lift for 35 in a GU
or mods for the 4.2
or the topic of choosing 3L or 4.2

my 2 cents

I would like to see the list started again and to hear if there is any series III with replaced engine yet.
There must be few around with well over 100000km on the clock by now.

All you need is some-one with 5 hours of time to start it ..... Thats all the original "MQ/MK BIBLE" took to compile.

Here's how I went about it.....

Open up several Microsoft Notepad windows

Give each one a "saved name" IE: Motor, Gearbox, Driveline, etc

Open up the Nissan section and look for GU related issues which fit into the various catogories.

copy the link to the relevant notepad window

click save

It takes about 5 hours to "flick back" through the 100 odd pages of the Nissan section searching for specific GU related stuff...... you dont look at other models at all nor do you need to look at the "General Tech" section for the time being ( it can be looked at later on if you so decide)

Once you are satisfied with the number of sections & the number of links within each section which will be placed in your GU bible, go to the Nissan section......

Hit "New Post"

Wright in " __* GU BIBLE *__ " in the topic name

and add one of the notepads....yep a simple copy n paste !

click submit.....

click reply to post

copy n paste your next notepad

click submit.....

click reply to post

copy n paste your next notepad

click submit.....

click reply to post

copy n paste your next notepad and so on till you have all the "pages" done.

( hint .... do the first and following posts of the GU Bible at a time when there are very few users online....this will prevent any "unwanted" posts mid bible. Wendle will gladly remove any unwanted posts....all you have to do is ask him :D

The beauty of it all is that you have a permanate record of all the links on you own computer and can update anytime that it suits you.
By simply clicking on the "edit" tab in the OL window you can update the actual bible.....

Its that easy

The hard bit is getting some-one to actually do it and that some-one needs to be reasonably "smart" when it comes to GU stuff

Updating your GU Bible should be done say once a month..... I've just done the MQ/MK Bible and it took 30 mins to add links from the last 10 pages

I'd gladly do it for you guys but time is not really available at the moment for me to do so....if you cant get one happining, then I may be able to do one in about a month or so time.
