It is not on in NSW yet but is coming...we have sent off the pilot to both NSW and WA (SA is already running it...9:30pm Fridays) and we can not find a community station in Tassie...(some help from locals would be great here).

We fly back home tomorrow from NZ where we have covered a few small events...the Jeep Jambo, the Motu Safari, a trip through private property and a visit to a couple of 4wd parks. Before we left I was assured that the tyres had been sorted and were waiting to be picked up.

We are planning to be at the Wandin show, the Pajero challenge, WeRock and what ever else pops up in the next month.

I haven't been contacted as yet to say where or when to pick them up from.

Simon,
Just for your info, the Motu Safari turned into the Motu Winch Challenge due to the huge downpours which significantly altered the tracks.....we ended up throwing the towel in about 3:30am on Friday morning and camped on the track. Was another 4hrs on Friday before we were all out.

Sam (the dude you interviewed...70 Series Cruiser) smashed two hubs (a front and a rear) and the ARB boys drove him back to Rotorua that arvo for parts so he could carry on!

Cheers

Tim D, which forum is that? ...and why was it funny to see us at an event filming?

Re the Motu Safari...hell guys we were glad we got up that hill when we did. I guess there would have been over 50 people passing rocks up out of the creek to fill the ruts...which worked well to get our L400 up and out, but by then the rain had set in and it was only going to get worse.

George from the Geyserland club (Rotorua) emailed saying that the last cars out of Thursdays trip, finished 11am Friday...that's crazy.

But congrats to the organisers, we had a ball and were impressed (blown away) by what NZ has to offer.

We have started sorting out a community TV station in Auckland NZ...hopefully soon.

Also had a very positive meeting with the International head of the UFWDA (united 4wd association) before flying out today. Australia is now a member of this world wide association and it seems to be moving in the right direction.

We left a stack of DVDs in NZ...so make sure they get around.

Hi Nice Surf, I have emailed you the contact details and names of the people dealing directly with your tyres. This was PMed to you last week.
I am not sure if you think that posting your queries will embarass us into giving you your tyres or will make them arrive any earlier. It won't!

I have apologised, I have explained the initial delay, I have provided you with the appropriate contact details and I have explained that it has nothing to do with us.

As I have previously stated, as far as I know, it is all sorted and your tyres are waiting for you. If the supplier has not contacted you, then contact them and arrange to pick them up!

I wasn't posting to try and embarass you at all.
In truth I forgot about PM's as I haven't used them in a while.
It turned out that the guy had the wrong number, so couldn't contact me. :?
But I do thank you for your time and I do appoligise if I sounded like a pest but I didn't mean to come across like that.
I watch your show concistantly and enjoy every minute of it.

What did everyone think of last nights show???

I thought it was a good show, seeing people on there that i haven't seen in a while out there with the suzuki's was good. Only thing i didn't like was the amount of commercials but i guess things need funding from somewhere.

I enjoyed Joe's Tassie report and will defintely be making my way down there to do some driving. Simon you are getting better in front of the camera too, alot more relaxed which is good to see. Good job guys this is the first of this series I've seen and you can notice the improvement

As to the commecials you'll probably find that is a Channel 31 decision nothing to do with 4WDTV

Actually p76rangie. I have to agrea here. Almost every reply you have made on this site has in some way had a dig at 4wd TV or Simon from 4wd TV. I dont know what your problem with them is and i dont realy care but if you continue to reply the way you have been i will take further action which could see you banned from this site.

If you have nothing nice to say then keep your comments to yourself!

Ruff, if you want to apply censorship, go right ahead. I think you have a very selective memory. I have by the counter 118 posts on this site, less than 10 would contain any critism of 4WD TV. Now how many posts do you reckon that Simon has done getting stuck into someone. But as I said to patrolman, we can't have anyone on this site that is critical of 4WD TV can we. So if you want to kick me out for this, you can prove my point.

Not to be the odd one out and this is not really my opinion, but I'll pass it on. Sure I know a lot of people watch it. I am an avid viewer. I enjoy it and encourage it and applause the work you do. However I have concerns about what the non-4wd community is thinking. I know a reasonable number of people who watch it that do not have 4WD's just to see quote unquote "what the idiots are doing this week" They ask me is this what I do. We are not a bunch off yahoos that tear up tracks and needlessly detroy cars. I don't really like the type of image that is getting portrayed. I don't just worry for me, but the industry as a whole. I like what 4wd TV has done, and I like what say the Great Outdoors do in relation to 4WD's. Maybe it wasn't possible to cater/represent both sections of the community i.e. hard core and soft core (less hard core sounds better). A show that covered both would strategically appeal to a broader audience. I would like to see a little more emphasis on

1. State forests trips
2. Camping areas
3. Driver Training i.e. tips and techniques
4. Clubs - I know you touch on it a little, but I don't think they are getting represented well enough.
5. Extended trips.
6. Industry news the whos who and whats what. Include Govt issues and agendas ie forestry closures etc, bull bars critisms and so on.
7. More on 4wds parks and trips.
8. New car launch?

whilst retaining the off road events etc.

Please don't take what I am saying as being entirely negative, I am trying to give you some insight to public opinion I have encountered. Surely there must be something else to show beside old footage of Short Course 3 years ago.

Of course it will be said that we have little funding so give us a break. I understand that but without some feed back I can't see how you can improve?

Last nights episode touched a little on Rover Park, but someone from the park should have had an input and put more together about it. Rover Park is more than an off road competition venue. I just didn't think it went far enough.

Good luck with it and all in all something is better than nothing.

Cheers

I decided to watch tonights show to see if had changed much. I think the adverts are getting worse. Before you claim that I am just making false claims, here are the facts, give or take a few seconds. The show went for 32 minutes, of which only 6 minutes 40 seconds was non-comercial content. These were the extreme winch challange, your rig, and battle of the codes. There was 6 minutes 20 seconds of official adverts. 9 minutes 30 seconds with Brawn Winches, PNL 4WDriving, Narva and M&M Custom Engineering. There was 5 minutes 30 seconds on a supposed tyre test that did not stay whether they were good bad or indifferent. Outside pushing the tyre brands through the session they managed to mention Narva, EFS 3 times, ARB, Brawn, Extreme 4X4 3 times, and state tyres twice. They covered an event in New Zealand put on by the Jeep company and spoke the whole time to the senior manager of the company. They were given the free use of a jeep while over there. This advert for jeeps went for 3 minutes 20 seconds. The rest of the show was the beginning and ending and asking for sponsors.
