I don't know about the $1000 entry fee as this will knock a lot of the low budget capable rigs out. It can't be just a big buck event as it then turns into a sponsor event. As Dozoor said he was working on basically $1600 of mods and no real sponsors yet was competitive. There are a lot more of thise sort of rigs than high buck sponsored to the whazoo rigs out there.

As to the knockout format its a great idea but needs a lot longer lead time than this years event. As a club we are trying to get something happening in Vic that will be a trials based event. Maybe if each state was running something like that (NSW with Nissan or Woodpecker Willowglen) and the top 5 from each event qualified and the remainder from public voting. A lot of work but it could make the sport flourish as more top grade events appear around the country

I carnt see a problem with a qualifier the day before the main event. Sort it out then and there. Even this will stop a lot of the pretendors as they wont want to waste their time and money draging their rig to an event that they know they wont qualify for.

I think last years entry was around the $600 mark?? $1000+ I dont think is unreasonable (increase if for the extra day competition). I think that most people spent a lot more than this in entry by the time they bought mags last year.

Sams idea sounds ok to me but $1000 is to steep in my book, even for sponsors to pay. Maybe $1000 entry fee fully payable by EVERYONE to start with before the event then if you don`t get in you get half of it back.

But I very strongly think that the 3 place getters have to sit a year or 2 out, maybe even the top 5 or 10. This way the event is diffently going to get new rigs every year.

Yea - half back (or even more) if you dont get in sounds better.

I like the qualifier idea

Let the trucks ability determine whether it’s worthy of competing.

60 plus entrants, would all need to be scrutineered beforehand, paper work checked, then drive a course.

If it was held on the Thursday, on site, then bridging insurance for a day wouldn’t be a huge issue, and if you guys are prepared to pay $1000 + for the privilege, hell, what has tuff truck p/l got to loose?

Yep ,is the only way to be sure you get the top truck is to run a qualifying track ,1000 bucks entry would be so funny ,then you will get all the accessories rigs ,cause the most blokes who do there own total biulds wouldn't consider spending that on an entry ,1000 bucks buys heaps of machining!
If there serious about it they won't have a problem with being there a day earlyer for the qual,
And i rekon most of the spectators would come for it to ,Fund it with a seprate entry fee for the qaulifying day .
If the boundarys for entry where ownly, safety, engineering, entry fee, qualifiy -- Then you will get the top truck.Qualifying Is earning your entry status.!
Most people who competed probly had a couple of days holiday around the event anyway.Plenty of notice for the Boss hehe.

Oh you would have to charge them to qualify as well ,say $100 ,if you make it the 100 comes off your entry fee ,if you don;t make it you lose it. This should stop people just turning up for a run on the track and wasting time.
I wanna see the qualifying carnage!! Please!! :D

I agree, Cut the shyt, no sponsors pick, no favourits, no ( but I came top 10 last year), no (but they want me in) just the best rigs that make it through the the pre event knocking the shyt out. Then you have TTC 03.
Also if you came top 10 the year b4 then you are out for a year, lets new rigs to come through.
NOW ABLE TOO SAY WHAT I WANT WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING SALES.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

Some cool ideas,

The $1000.00 is a bit steep, i think just the qualifying day would eliminate alot of Tryhards and Big mouths just for the fact they may be knocked out and loose 1/2 their entry fee ($600.00 entry fee) and a lot of the others that just want to get there picture in 4WD monthly won't show as they would hopfully realise their not up to scratch!

I DON'T think we should knock out the top 10, 5, 3 or whatever from the next comp to make way for new Blood, there are two reasons why!

1. I want to go down there and if i win i want to know i am/have the Tuffest Truck in Australia and not have to sit there all year listening to people saying "IF DOBBIN WAS THERE HE WOULDN"T HAVE WON" and "THERE IS NO WAY THAT Piece Of SH!T IS BETTER THAN ANTUNACS"

2. The winner or the TOP 3 should HAVE the RIGHT to DEFEND their TITLE the year after!!

So i like the Idea of the "KNOCK-OUT DAY" (upto 60 Rigs can enter) top 29 go threw (winner from last year must drive on Knock-out day but is auto selected)

Pretty Simple.

Pos Yes i agree ,you need at least the top three, Or it wouldn't be fair to call your winning rig top truck hay.
But if they don't qual suck shyte.

would be a bugger for any of you to put the effort in then have people say , BUT if suchinsuch was here --- or thisnthat was done , that sort of stuff really suuks.

THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE

You guys have very competitive trucks and attitudes ,Hope there watching and change it so you all get the chance to show your no blllzit abilitys as worthy oppponents for TT2003. :)

WAY COOL i think if you wanna come back and take the title year after year, then so be it, cmawwn back and bring it awwn. Most rigs change so much from year to year its like a different machine anyways after a year. Allowing last years entrants back is good.

there could be more than 30 rigs from each state so a state qualifying round would allow even those with no money to have a go, after all it is tuff truck, not richest truck.
Personally i think the competitors should not have to pay to be in it as they have already put up their money to build their rigs , the spectator money should be enough for the organisers.
The qualifying rounds should sort out the wannabe's well before the event.

I was of the opinion that the (rather) large entry fee was to restrict the competitors to those who were serious. If there is another way of choosing competitors surely the entry fee wouldnt need to be that high...

Even if the you cant, i used to work for one of the biggest ISP's in aus and i could get access to whatever website i wanted whenever i wanted on our servers, which is alot of them... Who would host the site...

Man, the Pentagon gets hacked weekly!!!! a 4x4 poll would be NO PROBLEM for somone who knows what there doing!

anywayz! setp this poll and we will play!!! Havnt hacked in YEARS!

You are a smacktard :D
The pentagon does not get hacked weekly...a home network and a script will only help you if you code one that comes to outerlimits, sets up an account, logs in with the newly created username and password and then votes. You can only get one vote, then it needs to do it all again.

Poll is up - knock yourself out. :)
