K&N Filter for Sierra

Post by Acca Dacca »

Anyone been able to track one down in WA ?

Ive rang a few places that stock other K&N filters but none of them have the one for the Sierra.

They have to order them from over East... bah...

 i had issues too... Super Cheap Auto asked me if it was a G13A or G13B engine as thats what they had listed for suzuki's... imagine the spanner i threw into the works when i said i had a G13BA :?

As it turned out both engines actually took the same part number (kinda redundant) and i got a Suzuki Swift filter, which IS the same filter as ours

Anyone else had the same problem with fine sand ?

I wanted to get one mainly because they're a little less hassle, better flow and are meant to be cheaper over a long period... but not if they let sand in...

well they are supposed to be 'serviced'

the manual (yep, read it) says that the filter should be cleaned every 10,000km's.

However it did state that it may need services more often depending on conditions

(It said for off road rally vehicles this could be as soon as 100km)

so i imagine cleaning it after a few weeks in the sand ain't that bad

(You've got ten services before recomending replacement)

I clean mine and they say it works better for some reason a little bit dirty. hmmm.

Leave it up to you. Might just be my zook as it is good at doing things like that.

K&N.

I think they say about 50000km or something round there.

from k&n website.

Lasts up to 50,000 miles before cleaning is required depending on driving conditions

this is the one to get..
