85 means its an MK/MQ - I know a guy who is selling an 85 that is very straight and he only wants like $6000 for it, maybe a bit less.

So yeah, 13k is a bit steep.

The $6k one is on the Sunshine Coast, 5sp diesel (not sure if its turbo or not).

Depends really. You can do a turbo setup really cheap if you know what you are doing, and since there is already an OEM turbo version of the SD33 it will be heaps cheaper.

You'll find a whole sd33t that needs attention internally, but hte turbo setup will be fine, and it will be cheap. Bolt it on and away you go - the engines apparantly are identical otherwise (I remember screwy saying it somewhere on this board).

That is the truck I was talking about, I didn't have a real close look, but it looked pretty straight. He's only selling because he's moving up to north QLD and doesnt have room for the 2000000000000000000 cars/bikes/trailers/boats/campers and other stuff he has hidden away in the 40 sheds he's got

A friend just picked up a SWB Turbo diesel MK for $1800 to pull some bits off for his LWB diesel.

Car is in great condition for that price, with rego.

You can normally pick up the turbo and exhaust manifold for like a few hundred dollars each. He was looking at rusted out MK turbo diesels for 500-700 for the whole car.

Geez thats abit steep.
I had a mate buy a 94 GQ coil cab ute with DTS highmount turbo $16000 in NOV. And it was pretty straight.
So 13000 for a 85 model is abit much no matter how good it is.

Darn problem is the SD33 won't last long with turbo on it - better off with the SD33T - there was an SD33T ute 5 speed with 193,000 original kms on the clock at a car yard in Kingswood for $4,750.... could get it for less..

That aint too bad price wise hey.... much better idea - thats just my personal thoughts thought... don't have to re tune it or get new exhaust or have motor rebuilt... pay the cash and go. Just my idea like I said.

It is an absolute rip off champ.For that type of money you can buy a coil sprung GQ wagon with everything you want and swap the wagon cab for a ute cab.
