Landy 6 wheel ute

Post by Patroldude »

As above - what you recon one of these is worth in good running order with no rust?

Are they popular/rare or is it a bodge job - I seem to remember a UK rover being 6 wheeler from factory hey.

Your knowledge on these great lil fourbies would be great.

depends on the engine and conversion.

If it is an ISUZU 4BD1 and done by the army with a full drive sailsbury on the 3rd axle then it would be would be worth a bit - the seller would probably want propper money for it.

Sorry,

Hard to say, I could be way off here,

Last 6x6 I heard of sold for around $20K IIRC - If you could pick up a fully feature 6x6 with a 4BD1 for $15K I think you would be on the money. Just check it out - the army probably owned it once so it might have had a hard life

Not as hard a life as the english light weights - twisted chassis etc usual problems for fourby that been dropped from a Hercules C130 in the Brecon Beacons etc..

Thanks - will let you know how I go mate.

Cheers

Hi

as per my post on the 4BD1-T oil filter thread, I spotted a JRA factory spec civilian 6x6 perentie ute in Toowoomba two weekends ago. Was told 200 civvy units were made when the army deal was going through.

4BD1-T with LT95 4 speed and dual salisbury rear diffs. Owner paid $12K for it a couple of years ago which was a steal.

16l/100 k economy was disappointing, but to V8 owners, that is probably good.

How much do they weigh ?

StrangeRover's business parter has a 4BD1 with a scubi turbo on it
that gets 10L/100K and weighs nearly 3 tonne in a Rangie.

Don't see why there would be a 6L/100K difference ?

For 16L/100K on diesel I could drive a mog :)

Maybe you should kev - that would be a $1000 profit for me right away - that would pay for 2 of my 44 boggers... mmmmm

Oh you meant off it to him.... ah - different story. This is a long way away - its not even in this country and NZ is a big place.

Ah - alas this is not a 6 wheel drive - it is in fact a 4x6 meaning the rear 2 wheels are on an independant cantilever design.... most upset.

HOWEVER - the tray on it is a tipper and it has a rearward PTO on her...

She is in reasonable condition I must admit.

I will know more when I see her and get her onboard the ship for transport back to Sydney in a month or so.

Regards
