4agze in a vitara? is this possible?

well seeing as my motor has sorta kicked the bucket, i was looking around for another motor. i came across a 4agze supercharged in a RWD corolla.

i doubt this is a simple transplant, as i now have a 8 valve carby. i want to keep the 4wd, so i was thionking about the 4agze, a gear box, and maybe a sierra transfer, as they are seperate. with this, i know custom tailshafts and a cradle for the transfer will need to be made.

is there a bell housing adapter for a 4agze to the zook gearbox? or is it custom?

the 4agze has computer and fuel pumps and everything else. i might need to change my fuel tank too? i'm not too sure about any of this, and hopefully someone on here will be able to help me out.

am i getting too far ahead of myself? should i just rebuilt my 1.6? i have no idea about costing either. (call me a newb... )

If you can't do it yourself forget it. The cost for a fully custom job like that would be horrendous I got quoted between 4 and 7 k to put one in a sierra and that was me supplying the bloody motor etc

ok, so why dont i just chuck that idea out the window.

someone also said that i should use a 1.6L swift head on my vit engine. i have an 8 Valve, and the swift is a 16V.

so another question, is there such a car as a Suzuki Swift 1.6L 16Valve CARBY ???

they also mentioned something about having to modify the dizzy to suit? i myself have not heard of the 1.6 carby version swift, but i may be wrong.

There is a swift 16v carby around , I have one in the shed . If you don't want to go efi it would be an easy swap . Alas the dissy sticks straight out but I have heard the cam and dissy of the16v corrects this and that a mazda 1.6 turbo dissy also sorts that out . Have not looked into that though .

thats right gonzo, did it about 2 weeks ago. dont know exactly what it is yet, as i haven't had time to upull it apart. but there was engine oil all over the engine bay when i got home. (and all over the driveway)

ok, we know that there are 16v carby swifts, and so if i find one, or just the motor, how will it fit up to the vitara gearbox? i doubt its a bolt on job, but if it is possible, maybe i could just drop in a swift 16v motor in?

i guess i'll have some researching to do. i hate wreckers, especially when they dont have what you want. such is life.

Its the same block , ie g16 etc so I am picking its just like the 1.3 from swifts etc . Swap over sump engine mounts etc and you are away . If you get serious I can got have a look at the two block and compare them . They are a bit berried and in different sheds but I will get the pic if they are the same , look like it from memory .

I've only had my vitara back on the road for a few weeks now after having the blown head fixed.Around $800 later and it doesn't go any better than before it blew the head. Getting the head fixed and machined up-$330, gaskets-$100, labour $150 (i know the mechanic), all new hoses, belts, oil, coolant,etc-over $200. It adds up pretty quick!

I looked into conversions a bit at the time but unless you know what you're doing and can do it all yourself or know a mechanic prepared to do a lot of work on your car for nothing forget it.

The swift 1.6 carby might be a good cheap option. No idea if it bolts up though.

From what I have been told a dissy of a turbo 1.6 mazda about an 86 dohc is a bent dissy and fits . Alas have not gone looking for one yet so not sure on this .

I know the 323GTX has been used in a DOHC swap but the cap and rotor needed some slight mods to fit. That looks like the photo from that swap.
