Hey guys, finally got off my ass and did something productive today.
though I need some help my front end has got enough flex for me at the moment but the rear needs a sh*t load of attention. Has anyone come across rear springs that are not mazada springs and flex well??

i run mazda's in the rear but only due to the fact i did not want to change the spring mounts on my current daily driver if it wasn't for that i would change in an instant. but if this doesn't concern you the choices are endless
stock mounts - off the top of my head
mazda - myself - nick - dave - hi runner use them to name a few
toyota ifs rears - ruff - beebee - all i know of
changed mounts
explorers / falcons - killalux - hypolux - pos (used to)
chevies - cplux - nick (used to)
hope to help - i think this info is right

More flex
The best advise I can give is play around with the hilux springs.I went to mazda springs but I have seen some good flex from hilux springs.Reset the hilux springs to around 3inchs remove some off the leafs.This will settle the spring and also bring it back to normal high.Make sore the swing hanger is at 45 degrees.I think this way is easy and not so costly. 8) 8) 8)

oh and you wheel BJ - i dont and never will run drop shackles - each to there own 8)

The best flex i have seen in a leaf sprung hilux would have to be HYPO's.
I also agree with HI-RUNNER, if you play around with stock hilux springs and mix and match and you don't mind a bit of stuffing around you can get really good flex out of stockers.
I wouldn't spend money on drop shackles or the likes, they do help wheel travel but thats about it, Hello SKIPPY!
I am yet to see any of these custom springs out perform a sagged, flogged out set of hilux springs, the only after market set that i have seen work are OLD MAN EMU but for $2500.00 they would want to do something! (Still no where near a set of falcons etc)
I think if you want a good ride and good flex you couldn't go to far past Hypo's set-up.

For the record, I no longer have IFS rears. As of yesterday, I am the proud owner of some custom 55" springs. Can't tell you much as I haven't tested them yet but I ran out of ramp height at 900mm (reversing up) and it wanted to go more.

I cannot answer any of these questions as it was not a stock pack that went in and I didn't have stock shackles and it wasn't in a stock location and even the perches were modified on the axle housing.

Im running falcon springs with superior 4wd shackles on rear approx 200 mm longer than stock hilux and parabolics on front with superior 4wd shackles( parabolics are a bit tough to flex but with the shackles they work excellent. You can see some pictures at http://community.webshots.com/user/realux
