Has any one changed the silcone oil in the clutch fan coupling?and if so can i use any type of silicone oil as i can get a tube for a toyota coupling?
I have done a search with some guys saying they have done it,if some one has done it how do you go about doing it?
ps. I shouldnt be able to stop the fan from rotating when motor is running?
or when i do stop it if i increase revs it should be hard to hold is that right?

Hi Gav
You usually need to be able to split the fan hub to top up the fluid.
Not all hubs are servicable , some have a screw you can fill them through.
I believe the toyota fluid will do
A fair test is how long does the fan spin for when you turn off the hot motor, it should stop almost instantly, not free spin.
