How strong are the 4-speed boxes?

Post by hey_all »

I'm just wondering if it is worth bolting up an engine I have sitting in the shed... I know it will be a fair bit of mucking around getting it going as well. But, thats just part of the fun, plus it will be a unique Hilux. But it will produce around 170hp ATW @ 4000rpm, which is a fair bit of torque...

Will the standard box even come close to holding this power?

Thanks.
Doing up a RN46.... slowly at the moment.

ummmmmmmmmm no i wouldnt belive it could hold up to that much power being put through a 4 speed hilux box. But really it would all depend on how you are going to drive it.
