Body mounts

Post by Gilli Pie »

Just a question, does anyone know if the bodymounts on the chassie are the same or similar for an 85 SC as to a 90's or 2000 model EC. just wondering for ideas.

Single cab to single cab are the same, there are a few miner differances but basicly the same.

The problem is if you put a 85 cab on a 95 chassi you have to comply to the rego laws for the 95 model. This incldues blinkers, lights, emissions etc as rego goes off the chassi year of make and not the cab year of make.

Mate of mine just finished building a 85 model single cab on a 90 something chassi and the engineer said he had to either comply on all things with the year of the chassi or change the chassi to the year of the cab or older. He changed the chassi as it was quicker and cheaper.

It had 90 something 2.8, gearbox and t case
90 something chassi
85ish cab
90 something diffs

now has 85ish chassi.

sold it for 10g and it only owed him about 4g  it was a very good rig as it was like new if not better in the body and paint.

i was talking about, and i know it's abit weird, but a newer body shell onto a older chassie. But i guess it's the same if it goes the other way around.

Still means that a newer engine tranny combo to meet emissions would be needed.
