if you have fitted bigger tyres that already counts towards your 50mm above standard ....... most cops dont notice or care unless you ask for it you should be ok
oh yeah if you do get pulled over and yellow stickered and the cop says he is doing you a favour .... dont argue the point ..... they get angry
BTW most pits inspectors wouldnt pick 50mm anyway

do you know where the 1930mm is measured from?
had a go with google, got 76.8inches (=1951mm) but again don't know where they are measuring from. my factory manual is no help either.
the std height of the front spring is 160mm .
hold a straight edge across the eyes in the spring and then measher down to main leaf at the center bolt this is 160mm std (this is called a stack height.)

it would have to be measured from the gutter or roof otherwise they wouldnt be abled to include body lift spring lift and tyre size in their 50mm limit ?!?!
BTW i meant to ask why you were askin bout the measurements..... what are you fitting springs.. body lift or tyres?????

i think i want either 33x10.5 15s or 255 85 16's, not sure.
also considering a mild spring lift as my crap stiff springs are sagging at the rear. OME and tough dog are options here. please suggest others.
i use the vehicle for holiday touring and weekend fun. its got 5spd lpg chev too.
btw toyotroop got me thinking, might be good idea to use the garage rollerdoor to measure height..

i used comfort king springs from opposite lock... i bought them cause they were cheap and i figured i would just break em anyway but they are still going strong ... i think they are just reset and repainted !!!
the 33s you want are only 1 inch taller than standard tyres so that only increases your vehicle height by half an inch so DON'T STRESS about the height of your vehicle
you could fit 2 inch lifted springs with no worries legally they normally dont actually give you a full 2 inches of lift after they bed in.

cool thanks ToyTruck
OL said they now stock tough dog springs, will have to enquire about those comfort king springs. do they flex well?? can anyone comment on how good tough dog springs and the foam cell dampers are compared to the OME gear?
im also not convinced that the 50mm height limit is legally enforcable as i havnet been able to find any documentation to support it.

like i said dont worry about the 50mm law ... theres that many vehicles running 35plus sized tyres .
my springs do flex quite well but i have a lot of weight over the rear diff ... rear winch , p/steering cooler , engine oil cooler , air tank and long range fuel tank.
the main thing i would look for is long warranty and make sure you tell them what type of driving you do. get a few quotes and ask how soft the springs are.
dont be afraid to ask them stupid questions ..... its your money!!!!
