OK. There's lots of different posts on various rear leaf springs people are using- what I want to try and do is start one post where people can post the following info:
- model and year Feroza (different years and wide/ narrow track have different leaf fittments)
- brand of leaf spring (& model number if known)
- approx height increase
- what the ride, flex and load carrying capacity is like compared to stock
- have they sagged?

Load carrying has increased dramatically. I used to have load lightly when going camping or shooting and i found that my old springs would sag so much that i could see possums in road side trees whilst night driving. Atm i can load the back full of firewood and not even look close to overloading her. The packs contain 5 main leafs (not sure of thickness) and one 10mm helper.
Now as for the ride........it's not too bad. I brought the kit knowing full well that i was going to loose some ride comfort. But in the end it wasn't as bad as expected. But then again, i always have my tools and recovery gear in the back so i'm sure that weighs it down a bit.
I also find that on dirt roads, it's best to let the tyre pressure down a bit to help with the ride.
According to my data sheet supplied from tjm, my springs haven't sagged at all over the 8 months that i've had them.
If your interested dave, i could bring some pictures down for you this week. Might give you an idea what they look like installed.

Still sitting very heigh, probably only dropped 1/4 of an inch if at all (after 3 years).
Opened rear spring brackets, allows for more travel. Will cut them off soon as they now rattle.
Springs are pretty stiff with no load and actually improve in ride with heavy loads. Car will squat a fair bit with a big load, but ride is excellent.

ok i had a 12/93 NT feroza
stock rear springs reset (cold) with the 2nd longest leaf replaced with a thicker (8mm) leaf from a HQ holden sedan. opened up the spring clamps to allow some seperation of the leaves.
never sagged and i had a 65ltr gass tank in the back.
Flexed nicely and allowed full compression.
drove nicely on the road probbly better than it did b4. Removed front sway bar and would up torsion bars . gave aprox 2 1/2 inch lift with 31muds. would only sag when fully loaded with all the camping gear and a full load of gas and petrol.

Did some ringing around today for spring prices (these are all for narrow track F300 up to early '92)
Kings raised DAI 004 $354 pr plus $40 freight
Kings raised heavy duty DAI 002 $420 pr plus $40 freight
Both prices from Repco- no idea on how much lift
ARB- nothing made to fit (surpise, surprise... )
TJM- only one set to suit my model
45mm lift designed for 150kg increased load $235 ea ($98 for poly bushes and $17 ea for ubolts.)
Lovells - initially told $95 pair (didn't ask what model Feroza ) and then when questioned on low price gave $345 +GST - still without asking what model Feroza..... Local distributor is useless...
So does anyone know where to get prices for EFS and Dobinsons? Are there any national chains that sell them

Obviously there is a major mistake in that reply.... The two different model leaf springs are infact (going by their website) a raised normal and "heavy duty" - not front and rear!! I've questioned that response and also asked what features their springs have eg. military wrap, friction pads between leafs, weight carrying capacity over standard etc.
Will post results. At least they responded- Carrolls and Dobinsons haven't replied to questions about where to buy their leaf springs in SA....

BTW the stock rear springs have got friction pads between the leafs.
King springs part number DIA-004 would be recommended ( 5Leaf @ 6mm). Part number DIA-002 is for constant load carrying and would be firm unladen. King springs Daihatsu leaf springs have Bullnosed ends (to offer a comfort). The leaf springs do not have a military wrap nor come with friction pads, we use fold over clips not bolt clips.

OK, more info.
Dobinson only make 60mm wide leafs to suit narrow tracks (wide tracks are apparently 70mm?) They only make one leaf pack in 45mm lift and it is uprated to carry more load.
Price (finally found a distributor in SA) was quoted as $225 ea.
I've ordered a set as they can make them in 2 days. Tried ordering some Lovells yesterday and got told it would take 11 weeks!!!

Dobinsons- fitted them today...
For a start the two springs were different with the third leaf mounted further forward on one- but nothing to say which was the right or left.... Tried ringing the local distributor - not open on Saturdays; tried ringing Dobinsons in QLD - not open on Saturdays.... Ended up guessing which went where.
Next problem: the supplied poly bushes for the rear spring eye were too big. Could get them in but they were distorted and then couldn't possibly get the metal crush tube in without destroying them or pushing them partially out the other side ( yes, I was using a proper hydraulic press to fit them! )
Ended up having to machine 1mm off one and 2mm off the other to get them to fit. The second one needed 2mm off it because the metal crush tubes supplied were different OD's !!
The U bolts are way too long and hang down over 25mm below the nuts (and they're longer than standard nuts to start with.)
Initially the lift was way high, but after a 15km drive it's settled down to 45mm (as advertised). The ride is firmer, a bit more pitchy, but the bumps are not as harsh and there's not anywhere near as much diving under brakes. It now corners flatly too.
