rock lights

Post by Pat Murray »

Hi all,
I have just installed underbody lights on the Zook and thought some of you may be interested. After some searching about I discovered that there are waterproof pond lights available that work spot-on. The brand is Nelson and they were marketed as "Botanica". 20W. or 50W. 12 volt QI lamps , totally waterproof and a decent thick slab of glass for the lens. They come with a bracket that enables you to pivot them to any angle and a good length of elec. lead. Drill an extra hole in the bracket. Run them through an illuminated switch in the cab and then to the aux. battery after an in-line fuse (10A). Best position in front is under the jack on the inner guard aimed at front end of the tailshaft and at the rear where the floor pan angles up to the tray area. Not only are they a big help on hard night runs but look bloody cool too!!

I was going to use somthing like this for reversing lamps, but vibrations would kill them.

I now want to use these luxeon LED lights, even though they are probably expensive and the manufacturer dosent sell to the public.
They have the Bling factor too....

They look good, would love to see a night pic with them lighting up the ground.

I reckon neon's would be cooler though

Or off ebay, but these have waterproof bling alloy housings and would be sooo easy to mount.

Had the same thought of using these. Was told the prongs at the back are very delicate though. Still thinking of doing it though. As my brother made lights for his bike with 12v downlights.

As long as the bulb mount/housing holds it firmly then the pins would probably not be a problem .... go and buy a $4 glass one and try and bend them, they're pretty tough

Yes Bad Ju-Ju, you found them. Yes they are available at Mitre 10, 50w unit about $35 and yes Spike Sierra It was me who was lucky enough to win the Ramp Day Of the Derwent Valley Club. 653 RT.I. with a SPUA was quite good I thought.
