Tyre size and ADR's
So are there any ADR's that cover maximum tyre size for a 4x4??
What about ADR's regarding rim size ??
Chris.

I've heard that they're waiting for the outcome of a court case currently being heard regarding bigger tyres for a 4x4 (outside the realms of the placard requirements)
Apparently a 4x4 running 'engineered' bigger tyres was involved in a fatal, and someone's trying to sue the engineer who authorised the tyres.
So I guess it's wait and see

I am sure that my 1985 4runner did not come with a tyre placard! I know all new 4x4/cars have tyre placards, do older 4xx4's have placards??
Chris.
no bullbars in the city
a log book to say that you you a 4x4 for it intended purpose
special 4x4 licence
age restriction for 4x4 owning
HIGH insurance premiums for 4x4 park onwers
restricting crown land and national park access
now correct tyre sizes
you'd not be mistaken to think that next year they'll just outlaw 4x4's

i don't need no stinking quote for my sig. line!
Guys,
Thats why we have given up on the registered thing and started building buggies. Soon it will be illegal to drive a 4x4 anywhere including the road. Unfortunately the future of this sport will be to build a buggy and trailer it to a private 4x4 park and pay to play.
Something needs to be done. How come all these G4Y Lezo loving greenies get there way! there are more of us then them........hopefully

Whats the go with 4wd parks, mainly those in QLD? Do they allow unregistered rigs outside of comps? Looks like anything I want to build in QLD won't be legal (spoa for example) so it's most likely going to become a trailer queen.
I don't know much about the regs in QLD..
I do see your point tho Megaman...IMHO its bad that all these rules etc just mean people are going to create unregistered rigs, which I would think lead to more dangerous situations off road..just my 2cents

I spoke to an engineer where in WA. He seems to think that it should be OK with the 37's even changing the offset. He thinks that if you go up you should widen the track and that would be his recomendation. But this all assumes that I pass the lane change test and brake tests!!!
But I still have a lot of planing until I get the engineer involved. I still have to get permission from the cops to start the mods yet.
Chris.
