80 series diffs.... how strong.

Post by mud4b »

has anyone out there compared 80 series diffs to hilux diffs in strength?

thinking of going the 80 rather than lux diffs as these are setup the way i want for starters?

well i have never compared em but the 80's front diff is a similar size but i would think it would be stronger than the lux diffs....

The rear diff in the 80 is definatly bigger than the lux's.

i know that the 80's CV'sare a fair bit bigger than the lux's too..

You shouldn't have a problem if these will be under
the suzuki as they weigh 1/2 of a 80 series.

strong enough for you

when i went with them it was because the run the same 8" centre section in the front, they run 30 spline cv's and axles through out, and the cv is huge compared to a lux

rear is definately stronger

custom built dana 60's and crap would be stronger than gq diffs.

but their probably the toughest easily available diff in australia, from what i have read.

I reckon GU diffs would be stronger than GQ -but at the price - yikes!!!!

hmmm - onlt real weak point on the 80 - is the front - in reverse - they pop pretty quickly that way!
