Its a shame if they do, isn't the show run to raise funds for CHARITY! Lets hope they don't need the services of the CHARITY in the future only to find it without funds!

Post by Pinball »

Mr pink had some kick under the bonnet, but didn't hang round to enter...

Some good displays by Redlands club... kudo's..

And yes a bit of a dissapointment overall.... might have to bite the bullet and get involved in the organisation next year....

Anyone with suggestions on what they'd like to see, or if you were involved improvements on the running of the show... please let me know...

will let u know the dollar figure l8r..

I went down for a couple of hours for a look. (Driving my falcon). I put my Cruiser in the show a couple of years ago, because I thought it was for a good cause. Which it is. The only trouble was, I had to do some creative "backstreeting" to get home because I had one of the local constablatory bearing down on me. Luckily I managed to get rid of him in the back streets. But, it could have turned into a very expensive day out if I hadn't.
As sad as it sounds, I won't be doing any more charity work that involves my truck being vulnerable to the powers that be. They say that charity starts at home, and I'm sorry, but I can't afford to be forkin' out for fines in the name of charity, then giving to these charities at the same time.
And, with no disrespect to the Bayside club, they do a fantastic job organising this, but I think this is the reason we saw numbers down this year. Too many guys were worried about having a yellow sticker slapped on their windscreen.
I guess it just doesn't pay to be community spirited anymore, eh?
Simon.

Competitor entries were well down from the 110 vehicles last year, a shame... but there's always next year... more ppl through the gate this year though....

and more entrants/public = more draw for the trade stalls..
more entrants/trade = more interesting show for u the public....
