nice mate, nice.
VL - don't tell me.. your wheels on it??? :D:D
keep an eye in the for sale section for flares, and ausjeep.
you just missed some that were there last week.
oh yeah another not so jeep theme'd approach are some fiberglass ones from FRP at kippa-ring (usually suit cruisers.etc).

We have some second hand 4" flares off a TJ. Look standard, but a hell of a lot of extra width. Covered the TJ with 33x12.50R15 and 15x10 rims and room to spare.
Give us a call between 8.00am and 5.30pm... 3892 2766.

flares

Post by 74cj6 »

i know the idea o fflares is to cover the tyres but i figure if i leave an inch or two uncovered i will spend a lot less on replacing the bastards every time i get intimate with a tree.

you sure they cover the whole of the tyre ryano? i run 37x12.5x15 on a 15x10 rim and my 8" flares dont cover the whole tyre

Just checked the photos of the vehicle.... Covered the tyres but not quite as much room as I remembered. The tyres and flares were pretty level.

Wheels had a 4 & 1/8th of an inch back spacing. Mickey Thompson Classic Locks.
The Jeep has had another little makeover now... bit more lift and has 17x9 Classic II with 35x12.50R17 Radial Claws. 4.5" backspacing on these rims and an inch narrower rim brings the tyre under the new flares without a problem. Looks good and handles really well with the 17" on it. Shorter sidewall gives less roll in the tyre.
