Just wondering if later model dashes from 2000 Sierra's will fit earlier models such as the 90-91 models? And if there's much difference between the soft and hard tops? If its possible to do, how much work's involved in fitting them?
Anyone out there done it??!! I'm just interested to know
SAWZALL wrote:Yeah I've done it. Hardtop no prob, but softtop you'll have to make a bracket on the left side where the screen folds...
Cool, I think we'll do the swap since they want $150 for the later model dash complete and its in better condition. Might PM you with some help tips if we get stuck if thats ok!!! but we wont be tackling it for a week or so....
Yeah no prob. From what I remember, all the colour codes on the wires are the same but a few incidental connections will need to be swapped over. Hole needs to be made in glovebox for bonnet release also..
Thanks guys, its good to know what to look out for before we start now.
Electrical side of things shouldn't be a problem as my b'friends a sparky and he's already pulled out and cursed at a lot of the dodgy wiring from the previous installations!!
We do however need a glove box door, so if you know of anyone who's got one to sell, or what they're worth etc please let me know !!

Dash conversion is coming along slowly but surely (motivation+time=progress)
Have some pics below....
Currently up the re-wiring stage & making custom brackets to replace the latches that allow the windscreen fold down... This means it will be now a permanantly fixed windscreen
This zook has been sitting in the shed being neglected at the moment :(
Too many other things going on & as always not enough time for white zook!
It'll get done though, eventually
