Sliders

Post by James_Murray »

Sliders are actually strong tubes that are fitted under the chasis rails, sometimes steps are added for dual purpose, but sidesteps alone are not rock sliders.

There is a spoa rocsta floating round Newcastle, dont know if the owner is on the board at all though. It also features in the current 4WD monthly readers rides.

My Raider is just on 2000kg so I did my sliders with 3.2mm wall thickness. After last weekend, I think next ones I make will have a heavier wall. No real damage but outer bar has gone up a few mm towards the rear.

I am guessing a bad earth to the instrument binnacle (most likely), going on the electrical oddities that present themselves in other Kias...........................

Other possibilties: snapped speedo cable or VSS sensor wire, corroded contacts on the VSS and temp guage sender (engine end)...

There's a couple of wrecks at Gold coast wreckers and also a wreckers new Toowoomba has some.
Just search and you'll find them.
New parts are sometimes cheaper than wreckers though

Na matey more like sidesteps made out of pipe. Bout 2 inch diameter is nice. I had em on my patrol and not only can you belt stuff without breaking em but you can use them as a sidestep aswell.
