fuel tank lift or custom tank for vitara?

Post by SiKiD_01 »

well, got my vitara back on the road again, with rego and RWC, yay!

so now, i'll be getting stuck into the mods again. i have a 3" body lift on the vit, and want to either raise the tank, or get a custom one made.

i was told to stay away from custom ones, as they crack and break alot, design fault?

and seeing as everyone i've asked about it here says to just lift the tank and carry jerry's. so this seem to be the better option, and if done right, will be better in the long run.

so question is, custom tank, maybe 50L, will be about $400, should i save up for this?

OR, just do the tank lift and carry jerry's? this is way cheaper. cost hardly anything i spose.

another question, has anyone done a tank lift on a vit SWB? or LWB, dunno if its the same though. i'm still trying to get my head around the procedure, and need to get a few ideas.

if theres a way without grinding the original mounts off, i'll be right up for it, but if theres no other way, it may take time (i'm a shit welder)

pics are the best, and any help advice hints tips etc etc would be appreciated.

thanks
Steve
