1/2 Ton Army Trailer value?

Post by grungle99 »

G'day all

I am considering selling my 1/2 Ton Army trailer with Pintle hook. It is the mobile workshop type the Engineers used, and therefore a good flat base for mods.

Anyone know what they are worth, given they are hard to get.

Cheers

depends on condition. $300 - 400 sounds about right. If you were local i'd be keen as i am after one of those.

i brought a half ton ex army job about 12 months ago. good condition, brand new army spec tyres, wheel nuts converted to suit my 110 defender wheel brace, 1968 model, to suit pintle hook.

I paid $550.00 bucks for it. it is with out doubt the best, most soildly built trailer i have ever seen with lots of clearence to back it up. it tows like a dream behind my defender.

ive had it sand blasted and have re-set the prings and done new shackles, just need to weld a tub on top ( or somthing) so i can use it. its sitting in my shed at the moment covered in s$#t.

If you price to get somthing made like it u would be looking at about $1000 -$1200 bucks. so i thought it was good value.

Oh, forgot to mention its got gas shocks, and fully sealed greasable bearings. it was and engineers trailer and still has the rear attachment and pin were other trailers could be attached to and be used like a road train when moving the trailers around the base with one veichcle.

also came with a couple of jerry can holders ( which were pretty buggered ) as well as all the lights and wiring including the nato style plug end. Ibrought it without the top, so it was like a flat bed.
