Rover Mudbash 2005 - RSMC now under CAMS
Mudbash 2005 received confirmation today that the Rover Scout Motorsport Club is officially affiliated with CAMS, meaning buggy racing will return to Mafeking Rover Park this year.
Thankyou to everyone for your patience and assistance over the past three years in helping us to bring the cars back. It's been a long journey but it's been well worth the trip.
As Mudbash will now operate under CAMS rules there will be some changes, but we anticipate these will be minor. We will still be able to run almost all of the events we ran in 2001.
And for those Rovers without a buggies, Mudbash still has stuff for you
too. As well as running buggies we will be keeping the fun of the popular human events from the past three years. This year's Mudbash will have a full program with something for everyone.
Buggy specifications, CAMS licence application forms, buggy application
forms and pre-sold ticket forms will be available soon. Entry into this year's event will be $35 presold, $50 at the gate. There will also be a drivers ticket available for $25 (limit 4 per crew).
As there is a lot of information to distribute and questions to be answered,
Mudbash is holding an information session on Saturday 5 March at 10.30am. The meeting will be in the new Rover Centre in Highland Ave, Clayton North. Can people please give me an indication of numbers of people who will be attending.
This will be your first opportunity to get specs, application forms etc. If you
miss this then the information can be mailed to you.
We are now calling on all Rovers out there to help us get Mafeking ready for Mudbash. There is a lot of work to be done at the park and we need you help in doing this. Please note crews running buggies are still required to do working bee man days to qualify for entry. Please also note these may increase following discussions at the next Mudbash meeting.
Here are some important dates to mark in your diary:
Saturday March 5: Mudbash information session, 10.30am, Victorian Rover Centre Highland Ave Clayton Nth
March 19-20: Pre Mudbash Working Bee, Mafeking Rover Park
April 16-17: Pre Mudbash Working Bee, Mafeking Rover Park
May 14-15: Pre Mudbash Working Bee, Mafeking Rover Park
June 10-13: MUDBASH
July 1: Post Mudbash Party, Location TBA
July 16-17: Post Mudbash Working Bee
Extra working bees may be added if the need arises.
If any one has any questions please don't hesitate to contact me on the
numbers below.
Please pass this email on to every Rover in your address book and lets get ready to race.
Yours in Rovering

Mudbash 2005
We are having the First training day for Marshalls etc on 02 April.
This will allow people to become CAMS Marshalls etc. This is all required to race.
Specs wil be similar to the past RE cages etc as Mudbash Regs always ran in line with Cams regs on most items anyway. (Gary , an RA who ran scruit was also a CAMS scruit.
The Bigger cars like Axle etc that are Hybrid cars from truck chassis and car body most probably won't be able to compete as they are too heavily modified.
The new course design will suit sedans and frame buggies anyway.
A car can be built for less than $1000 and in aboiut 2 weeks (we built an XD in 10 days and for $400 for SARC blast many years ago.
Catch you at Mudbash...
