GQ SWB SPEAKER LOCATIONS

Guys,

Just gone and put the full stereo in my GQ shortie.

The 12 inch sub sits in the back and is no probs....

i have the amp under the drivers seat, and the 6 inch front speakers in the doors.

I also have 2 6x9 speakers boxed. They are currently sitting on the rear seat facing forwards as i have no where else to put them....

I was thinking somehow on the roof up the back corners of the inner cab.

any ideas or pics of wat anyone has done?

i dont want to put them in the sides of the interior below the side windows..... id like to leave them boxed.
there is no room in the back for them to sit equal to each with the sub there......

any help would be good.

If GQ's are anything like MQ's you could leave them boxed and fit them in the side panels.

I'm building a custom sub box to sit in there, keeps it out of the way!

they are similar.

i dont want them on the side panels.... they def wont fit in there boxed anyway i dont think.

the sub is happy in the back, the bass is loud enough wihtout it being closer to my head.

it doesnt sound like you`ve got much space at the back cause of your sub, but in my shorty i knocked up a nice little box outa 15mm chipboard which sits flush with the top of the back seat when folded. Holds both my 6x9"s and a 10" sub comfortably and also doubles as a toolbox and somewhere to hide the amp a lil better.

i got my amp under my drivers seat (ready to put straight out if i get stuck in a deep hole, it isnt bolted down)

12" sub behind the passenger seat on the floor

no rear speakers as the splits are amped and are very loud the sound is great without rear speakers

pioneer splits up front (i had to space them so i hacked up the interior arm rest, tweeters side at corners of the car infront of the window.

stereo is where old one went.

i wanna relocate my amp somewhere, but there is just not enough room, was thinking of cable tie etc to the cargo barrier when my cage goes in. has anyone done this? this will allow better airflow and be up higher if the water gets deep :D

Sit them in the rear barn doors, theres heaps of room even if you've got wipers etc on the rear window......

then roll the rear seat forward and trust me their loud as they're pointing straight at ya....

Seen lots of amps and mostly radios fixed to cargo barriers.

yeah i agree with bazzle

alot of people are fixing amps to the cargo barrier. much better way of doing it.

also some people are getting sub tube (not sure on the way to say it) but a sub in a tube and these tubes are being mounted on the role cage inside the vehicle.

yeh im not sure i want them in the rear barn doors as then the sub will be aiming at them and them at the sub.....

cant be good for em, much less the sound rebounding off each other :roll:

im gonna make a box up to fit 4 7x10 speakers and fit it to the top of my cargo barrier in the wagon :rofl:

coz my amp gets to hot on the floor and decides to shut off after going flat out for about 30 mins :cry: also, carpet is removed and that made it turn off quicker :cry:
