believe theres a guy thats done it on ih8mud.com
exhaust on the other side
need to fab new engine mounts of course,
need gearbox to suit a 1hz, or i think someone said there might be a bell from a 75series that will mate the 1hz to your current gearbox, but not sure about that.
believe a 1hz has a fuel return line, 2H doesnt.
the 80 series radiator would probably be needed aswell, i think its bigger, 4 core?
otherwise they are both essentially mechanical engines, and the electronics are not mission impossible to convert.

Doing this to my HJ75, except I'm using a 1HDT from an 80 series.
Motor mounts needed to be moved. A 5 speed and transfer from a MWB HZJ73 was used to keep the shifters coming at the same location on the floor. Propeller shafts were kept the same as the transfer was kept at the same location as the old one. Power steering lines and cooler tubes had to be changed with those from the donor or custom made. Same with AC lines. Radiator from the same HZJ73 was used. For some reason the 73 return radiator hose didn't fit well, one from a diesel 80 was used. The lower one worked well.
Brake lines had to be moved but this maybe because of the turbo, the 1HZ may not have such a problem. Accelerator cable from the 73 donor attaches right up to the pedal. Vacuum lines and reservoir could be adapted from the 2H one, but I chose to use the new one from the donor. If using the 1HZ the old air cleaner can be used. Tach from the donor will be used as the 2H tach doesn't work, so the whole HZJ73 instrument cluster is going in.
Engine wire harness from the donor would save a lot of time in the swap. Any HZJ70/73/75 would be a good parts donor. An HZJ80 would make a fair donor as the engine accessories and the gearbox are different. I'd say the engine mounts would have to be custom made or modified to work on 60 series frame as they are wider than a 75, even wider than an 80 series.
