I'm going, :D
Just have to organise some spares. Dont think my trucks ready to compete yet but if you dont try you'll never know! :P :P
POS said they start off pretty easy and get progressively harder so you can pull out if you think it's too hard.
So think about competing :finger:

I'm fairly confident that I'll be competing. As toymad said, the tracks differ in hardness so there should be something for most modified rigs to tackle with the final track for the more serous. I don't feel that my rig is ready for competition either but I'm still wanting to have a go. Only problem is the drive back home should anything serious get damaged.

All in good fun though.

I will be spectating (with a few other LR club guys) - and driving some of the moderately challenging non-comp tracks like Nissan Hill and The Gorge.

For those of you that are going up to watch and to also have a play around there are some really awsome tracks (lots a rock) around track 67,68 and 69, Phils foley etc etc nothing xtreme but is worth a look if you like to dabble in some rocks!!!

I hope the comp finishes early enough so we can go for a swim and a few beers up at the Water holes, that will be a really great place to cool of and catch up with a few of you guys!!!!

I should be there as well with my mogrover to cruise a few of the tracks with the landrover club and might compete as well if there is a class I can enter.

Forgot to add that my avatar on the left is driving "the Gorge" at Manar. The Land Rover club were one of the first clubs to go there and back then it was the hardest track. Seems easy now (it helps that a few big rocks have been removed/ground down). We had a Range Rover break a CV doing that track and a lot of damaged RR quarter panels.

i remember driving down and back up the gorge just after you guys because there was a big trail of fish oil that had leaked out of someones chassis, made it nice and slippery :D

Are the tracks in the comp for comp use only,or can anyone have a go when the comp is finished?

The tracks where the comp will be run are not usually open for the public to use. They are in a private section of the park. They have been setup specifically for this comp. Unsure of what will be ok after the comp.

If you're going to try the tracks, why not compete?

I wont be going either. Have to have my rig in good shape for the week after. And will be helping Tony get his shiat together over easter and probably Bobtail as well.

So for me the Manar comp is out. Sorry guys but we have got bigger fish to fry (or something like that)

I don't think my truck is quite ready to compete, but would be good to try it on comp. tracks just to see how far off it is.
