Exhaust Chop Regulations

Post by bruiser »

Own a 80 series cruiser and looking at choping the exhaust at the back of rear wheel.
1. cause the wheel hits when flexing.
2. the tail muffler catches on everything

Question.
What are the rules as far as where your exhaust can and cant exit.
I heard that it has to be so far from closest door or window.

Any info would be great.
Queensland especially.
Thanks Steve.

Id say not, if you have the barn doors it would have to be out past those. If you have the tailgate style 80 series it might be a different story.

Tail pipe must exit no furthure foward than the last pivitod/sliding/roll down/roll up window

and must not exceed past the outer most dimensions of the vehicle
