Cutting the roof off a Holden Drover

Post by Sammyboy »

Hi All,
I am new to this Suzuki Forum, as I just bought a 1986 Holden Drover about a week ago. My partenr and I were thinking about cutting the roof off and making it into a soft top and wanted to ask you guys some questions? Is it a difficult job to do? Is it expensive? If anybody could give us some advice or point us in the right direction, we would much apprieciate it. We be getting it done professionally and would like to know if it is doable or not and how expensive/how big a job is it?

Thankyou,
Sam

buying a good soft top body may be easier and cheaper. gives you spare parts as well.
any 1.3 sierra body should fit. tho a narrow track sierra be the cheapest and easiest...I am assuming all drovers were 1.3's...
cutting roof is doable, but I think a pro would charge a lot.

Thanks for that, doesn't look as though it is that do-able without lots and lots of $$$. I will however look into the soft top body though. Yes my car is a 1.3 litre.

i agree with you chris. do you still have pics of greg's body swap?

sammyboy, try to track down a soft top body and ill be happy to come over and give you a hand with it. if you plan on getting a body lift installed, that would be a good time to do it.

having said that a hardtop is nice to have in melbourne. pete will chastise me but doing muddy trips in winter with the heater on is nice.
