Sam, last time i saw you out on the piss, it was a little more like two west coast coolers, and you were off with the fairies

ps; $80 per car for the weekend is a reasonable price, considering the entertainment you are going to get.

people pay round $80 last year for the nissan trials to watch a bunch of overweight trucks scratch round in the dust and get no where.

this event is more than a club based family weekend away where dads 80s is flogged about a mud hole. These vehicles are purpose built, driven hard and trailered home, all for your entertainment.

think of it as the crusty demons on four wheels.

Via Warwick was a good drive last time. Does anyone know if they are doing a roast dinner thing like they did for the Wild Weekend??

Wont be a roast dinner but the caterer there will be making a stew for the competitors and officials on Sat night and anybody else that wants a feed. I think he charges $10 - pretty good feed if you are into this sort of thing or couldnt be bothered cooking.

i think that $80 is very reasonable for a GREAT venue! i would love to go.... but i still have to finish work on mine for the 4x4 battle of the states and need cash....... badly  I can't wait to get back up there again. Like one of the guys said, share the cost with yer mates it will cost you $20 for the whole weekend....... can't complain about that!! although, i'm sure there is an 8pm curfew on the tracks there, making a night drive pretty much out of the question. I hope it all goes well and you guys that go have a great time!!

Been offered to spot for somebody in somebody elses buggy

I`m now looking at flights from Albury to Melbourne then to Brisbane :D and of course return.

Friday
Albury to Melbourne depart 7am arrive 7.55am
Melbourne to Brisbane depart 12.15pm arrive 1.20pm

Monday
Brisbane to Melbourne depart 7.30am arrive 10.45am
Melbourne to Albury depart 4pm arrive 4.50pm
There are other times but these times make it the cheapest I can do it.
With the 4 flights it works out to just under $500 and 9 1/2hrs hours spent sitting around in Melbourne airport

Would you do it?

Looked at going Albury, Sydney, Brisbane, Sydney, Albury but that way worked out to something like 8 or 9 hundred dollars  funny that since it is a lot shorter and a lot less time in the air

Well lets put it this way, i've done it in 3hrs and 15min from my house, so unless you've done it faster i don't think you would have a chance!

The 3 hrs and 15 min's was with Bec in the Car with me (and towing the buggy) so the fact that i will be by myself meens i could more than likely do it in under 3!!

Also i have never passed a cop or speed trap along the back way!! :finger:

Definately the ubenville way, i have done that way in under 2 1/2 hrs from my place, its pretty cool drifting the lux through the ranges

the warwick way took nicole 3 1/4 hours from redbank in her celica sitting on 130km/h the whole way besides the towns and with one fuel stop
