what is the stud patern on the series rover rims? are they the same as the disco rims or defender?

Stud pattern is the same with series 1, 2, 2a, 3, defender, rangie up to 95, disco series 1 (up to 99).

The wheel may not fit over the hub in the center if you are putting a disco mag (5 spoke freestyle) on a pre 87 landrover, and i think it is the same go with a rangie steel wheel.

Oh and i think discos have different backspacing, but not much.

disco rims are a srtaight fit onto series rovers, its only alloy wheels that won't fit over most free wheeling hubs (on series landys)

how much more back spacing do they have? is it posible to run them backwards to gain somewhat normal offset? or is that extremely stupid?

Its not possible to run backwards because of the shape of the center, but the backspacing isnt much.

I had disco rims on my county when i bought it with 235/75/16 bfg ATs and they scrubbed in my trailing arms, it would have a similar affect on the leaf springs i would say. They didnt scrub much, but enough to give me a smaller turning circle.

If you want to run disco rims, take them to a wheel repair mob and get them to cut the centers out and offset them or reverse the outside. When i got this done a few years ago at Morton and May Wheels in liverpool it was $50 per wheel.
