1HZ into hilux? Can it be done?

Post by BUNDERA »

Does anybody know if a 1hz diesel engine can fit into a 91 Hilux engine bay? Would be a bloody tight squeeze. The 1PZ(?) The five cylinder one would probably fit, but I really want to know about the 1HZ.

Has it been done? If so any info or pics?

Would be a torqey little number!!

Just wondering thats all.. Like the bundera all over again!

Cheers,
Nick

I think you'll find that it will be a little bit long to fit in a standard engine bay.
If you want a spare 60 for bits-

It`d fit if you either removed the radiator and support panel or lengthened the engine bay

I looked into doing it for my self and any thing is possible . I had an 2004 TD3.0 hilux and my missus has a TD 1HDT 80 that i measured the motor on, i could definitly make it fit and that was reworking the fire wall to keep the engine as far back as possible. I was going to buy a 98-on Petrol Lux to do the to conv to with 1FDT Multi Valve, Cruiser Auto, solid front axle ,full coils etc then dropped it to keep playing with my 80UTE.
And just went wheelin too much work .
