Hilux Power Steering Box Help.

Post by ToNkA »

Ok, have my soild axle power steer box in the truck but having issues with the fittings. It seems that one fitting from the box is 16mm and the other 17mm.

The 17mm one is closest to the steering wheel end if that makes sense.

Now Pirtek/Enzed don't have a 17mmBSP thread fitting, so it seems its a toyota only part, which does seem weird.

Anyone know of this, or have info?

Any help would be great! :?

I think you will find that this is supposed to be a banjo fitting, Pirtek won't have that either though.

Talk to a powersteering company, they will get you the bolt then you have to find the banjo or get pirtek to use that bolt to manufacter the fitting you want.

PS that is your return line.

Can get photo if you want.

Not sure if this is help full but I just got Bayside power steering to custom make me hoses with fittings for a toyota box to holden pump. This was something Enzed couldn't do without the connectors supplied (which I didn't have)

What did this set you back dazz? I'll have to be doing something similar in the not too distant future.

Don't waste your money hybrid, we'll sort it out for you. I'm still yet to do mine but it's best to convert all to JIC fittings (which is what the rest of my hydraulics are) which are the most commonly available fittings. Then if you use field attachable fittings, all you need is a spare length of hose and you can make up a new one on the spot (should you ever need one).
