cost of a Disco V8

hey all,
one of the discoveries in my dads company has just blown its motor. it is one of the first ones and is a V8 a 3.9 i think it is. he has been quoted 4000 for the motor and 1000 for the fitting. just wondering wot u guys think on these prices and where i can source one.

That's pretty good dough for a days labour, $1K to fit. Crikey, if you are mechanically minded hire a block and tackle and do it youself.
Shit i don't make a grand a day for labour.

yehi hadn't looked at the car myself but i just heard that the mechanic was tryin to stooge us and it is just a blown headgasket. so it will be more affordable now. thanx for the reply
