Has anyone done a bootie fab Hi-steer on their lux?
As above, my steering has just about crapped itself, and I know I need to X-over, but am lacking in coin ATM, so was wondering if anyone has bootie fabbed their own X-over, as looking on Snake racing site, I can't afford the $ for their setup, and I personally haven't had good experience with their parts in the past, most are in my shed bent, or stuffed.
If not Bootie fab, who else does X-over apart from ORI and Snake racing in Sydney?

Overkill? Maquarie? M&M custom?
Do it yourself by all means, but if you got no engineering experiance i wouldn't touch it. I cant weld for shit, so i got mine done at ORI. Prolly the best option in the long run.

Not making it myself, Idea sprung from looking under a 75 this morning, mate did his own histeer by flipping steering arms etc., question is could the steering out of a 75 or 60 be modded to fit a lux, Haven't measured anything yet, but looks like it could be done, as can get a 60's steering and possibly a 75's cheap. Any constructive answers to this question appreciated.
Would prefer to do it properly, but have budgeted no money to be spent on POS till after Sept, just want something to keep it wheelin till then.
And can someone give me M&M's ph. and address please.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get away with the tie rod length. I used to use an 80 series on mine that I just cut down some of the thread on each end. However I don't think the 60 or 75 series steering system works on a hilux as the leaf springs get in the way.

Something like this made more sense to me than custom hi steer setups.
Thought I had a pic of this in an old 4wd monthly, but can only make out the tierod at the rear of the axle, Pity the pics were lost out of the photo gallery, but something to look into as well, this would be soething similar to how a GU works wouldn't it.

Does anyone know if these are the Hi-steer arms Gonads is making, Pic was on Overkill site, but looks like M&M sticker on the hi-steer arm, or is Sam making these.

When it comes to steering don't skimp, get it done right the first time even if it means putting the truck off the road for a while and save for the work to be done.
You need to know that your truck is going to steer straight, turn corners and stop without giving you a sudden change of direction half way through (which can be caused by misaligned steering geomitry).
I drove my truck into Cheezy Racing (VIC) and got the boys to bung in a solid axle with custom steering and when I drove out I litterally drove straight up to Eden that night (1300 kms round trip). It drove ,steered & braked way better than when it was an IFS setup.
It can be expensive to get it done by the guys that know there shit but its worth it in the end.(thats my thoughts anyway)
