Well we completed all stages, nav tested might have been the closests to failing though. Think we had 2seconds to spare.

The big question is how many questions did people find on section 3. We stuffed that one completly, we think. We think our navigation was good, just didnt find many questions.

As for the pines, we just drove past as Lockee gave the treee a love tap. But the Paj went through it fine.

we made it to check piont 3.2 then had to head back as low on gas and no fuel pump. got a few rabbits though woods point. rocked up to cp3.3 and nobody was ready from there we just headed back to camp. how was jacking the car up at cp 3.2 not many people realized the handbrake only works on the rear wheels as they where all on a hill saw one roll off the jack. we made the pines ok having one of the nav nock out the stump before we got there. and also had to jump on the roofs

If it was the one in the old hut that was made in QLD(by memory) Australis, we got it. Did you find the timber beam with the steel in it near the checkpoint?

To conform - our GU didn't fit around the trees. We gave a little tree a tap at the 3 marker.

How many people ended up doing Abbott Creek Track??

We were the first car on it and damaged the GU Front on the second nasty lot of rock ledges then found out the Question was cancelled, NOT HAPPY.

Lost a lot of time and had to back track up Abbott Link Track where we met up with Hobsy and Shrek.

From what I heard someone ended up stuck on Abbott Creek Track with 2 broken CV's, not sure who, but could understand how.

As long as you already booked the extra seat, then just pay on the night.

I heard it was a good event Alberto, I'm glad I didn't enter because it would have been a repeat of last year. On the same weekend of the Challenge busted (I mean totally exploded) a front CV on Sunset Tk
Definitely next year...................

Frank, it would have been OK. We designed the course so that you can go around the optional tracks if there happens to be a breakdown.

Tammy broke the Jeep's rear diff and both front CVs at Short Cut 1. Roger Smith had an electrical fire at Boundary tk and I heard another Rangie broke an engine mount.

A little bit off topic....a month before the Challenge I broke the left CV joint on my GU at Sister's tk...before it was graded. I wasn't driving all that hard, so it must be wear and tear. Andrew replaced it with an aftermarket import and it seems to work fine.

cheers,
Alberto.

If you enter from NNE the reception is on your passenger side.
If you enter from SSW the reception is on your drivers side.

I'm not sure of the exact schedule, but I think meals will start around 8pm and presentation between courses.

It should be a good night...around 400 booked to attend.

cheers

It was a little disappointing for us that the pine tree motorkhana was worth so many points in a navigation event. Our vehicle simply didn't fit between the trees with the passenger side mirror touching one tree and the drivers side roof light touching another tree!

I reckon Juzza would of thought the same as a clean run would have given them a win.

I guess you can't have a vehicle for all occasions and you can't have a novelty to suit everyone.

Anyway I have had my , congratulations to Henry and Kelly and here's the results ;)
