Custom Front Bumpers

Post by alien »

Hey guys - just seeing what everyone has made to replace their stock front ends...

Ill soon be using steampipe (3-4") bent like a smiley face as front bar with a nudge bar welded like: \_n_/ on the smiley bit. ('n' is nudge, rest is bottom tube).

Im curious, because i want to see how everyone's park and indicator lights are mounted... we were thinking of cutting holes in the pipe n screwing the stockers in - but this opens you up to smashing them up on rocks etc.

lol, those cable ties are more sturdy than the original bumper mounts

I lost two indicator lenses while they were mounted in the bumper, this way works better, dunno why police would have an issue with it

eheh cos its not "fixed" to the car... im pretty sure if you got a wanker cop he'd bust ya for it...

on the up side at least if you hit something they swing back =P

I was kinda thinking going lada niva style with them in the bonnet, but then i realised that would be homosexual =P

maybe drill holes in the bar and poke LEDs through? hehe

Is it possible to use the coily headlight, indicator / parklight cluster and surround and modify to fit in where your original headlight is?

you can buy sealed beam headlights that have a parker light built in, then you just need to mount a small indicator light....joey got some from the local auto shop, but not know for what dollars.....christover

I have no idea, interpretting the rules found on our states web info, takes hours and a degree in gibberish...but I can't see it being a problem....saying that, tho, joey hasn't fitted them to his new beast, just in case, and will fit em after rwc and engineer.....he ran them on his old swb with tiny indicators on his bar...

i replaced mine with motorbike indicators, they were off one of those little scooters, about as round as a fifty cent piece. came with a mount and i bolted them on under the head light as close to the chassis rail as i could. i had no bumper sticking out past the rail and i never damaged one in two years of abuse.

Hella model no. 2156
http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catalogu ... maint=1113
And model no. 2055
http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catalogu ... maint=1059

Anywhere that sells Hella should be able to get them.
I will also be using the same LED indicators on the rear with a same sized stop/tail

RBs front bar alway appealed to me, pity those LEDs are so long, if they were about 150mm would be able to sink them flush verticle next to the head light, that would be sweet.
