Leaf spring brands

Post by Steve_GQ »

Hey all, the time has come to finally renew the suspension. I ve decided on tough dog adjustable's for the shocks but i don't know which spring brand to go for. I ve heard good things about Lovells, but i 've also heard good things about a lot of others. I'm able to get OME Dakar s for the front but not the rear, the proper OME 's are way out of my price range. The lovells are around the same dollars as the OME dakars.

I'm also chasing all new tie rod ends, does anyone know of any cheapish places where they are available??

Cheers

Had a look at the Ironman gear yet?? I had the choice of ironman or ome dakkar, and chose the ironman. Mainly due to feedback off here, reading up on the two brands, and making a few phone calls. I think the ironman stuff has 3 year/40,00km warranty too.

Just my two bobs worth.

Yep. MK wagon SD33T, also have Superior Engineering extended shackles. There's quite a few guys here that'll vouch for them. Ebay is the best spot to go. I lumped out $1200 for my whole setup, and a guy from Yarra Valley Auto's was floggin them on ebay for $700-$800. You win some, and you lose some i spose.

The other thing is, I was speaking to one of the mechanics that work for ARB, and he reckons that the real OME stuff is so hard to sell now, cause the Dakkar stuff is so good for cheap stuff!!

Is dakkar OME's budget range?

edit: Don't worry, I googled the answer :)

- They arn't that cheap either, RRP is still $2100 for a full kit.

There's Enforcer Fireflex as well (think that's what they're called) that I fitted and came up well. Still rough as MQ rough, but haven't sagged or shown any other negative signs.

I contacted the closest Enforcer dealer today and they were really good. He took all of the details and is going to put together a few different packages and get back to me tomorrow. He reckons he can get up to 4 inches of extra height, sounds good to me
