Got to Tassie thursday picked up brother on Friday headed to Zeehan Friday Night set up camp, started raining. Saturday morning still raining. Went to drivers briefing, 12 teams in total. Finished briefing plotted points on map and into GPS's, headed off, still raining. A few hours into the challenge doing well get to a creek has stopped raining, creek has turned into a raging rapid, tried walking accross, no hope, expecting to see some rafters come past any minute. Drove into the river very slowly, 1/3 of the way accross and water is coming in my window, not good, put it in reverse, sh!t we are floating down stream, car is filling up with water, i jumped out the window and am swept down stream, somehow managed to grab the front bar, car has stopped moving, water is up over the seats by now, i swim to shore and find a big fuc**r of at tree and we winch our way out to dry ground. Car is in a little cleared area beside the river no way of getting back to the track. Straight through the bush we go pushing over about 40 4 or 5 meter trees, walaa new track created. Back on track, a bit soggy for the rest of the day. Remainder of day a little tamer, only missed 1 photo which was on opposite side of river crossing, end result 1050 points out of 1100, top place at this stage.

Had dinner headed out for night stage on beach (arabian night style stage), 28 cars all lined up on the beach all lights on looked awsome. Night stage, given 7 GPS reference points, go find them, quickest time with the most correct gets the most points, set off in teams of 2 at a time. Enter points and head out head out to find them, cruising at 120km on beach at night awsome feeling. found all point went back. 480 points out of 500, still in top place.

Sunday similar to Saturday only more points on beach. Still raining, have till 4 to geet back, finished at 2.

Had the presentation, packed up headed off to duncans (North West Offroad in Tassie) stayed at his place over night. Still raining.

Left the next morning. Had a great time.

Did i mention that it rained!!!!!!!!!
Joe.

Sorry no photos, no one else was around, and we sort of had our hands full, the camera and photos was the last thing on our minds.

Great work Drafty, sorry to hear about your river crossing. You experienced the worst weather we have had in ages. :(

Sorry I didn't come up...
