4runner Seats Replacement

Post by Godzone »

Just bought a new rig it's an early 85 4runner, and I'm itching to change things already :)

First thing would have to be the interior - it's looking pretty tired and worn in places. I figure the two front seats are worst, so I'm wondering what's a decent replacement? I could just chuck in a tidier set from another truck that's the same, but has anyone fitted something better that would be a worthwhile upgrade?

I don't reckon I could go too much over $200 per seat - the wishlist is pretty big lol

Thanks guys. I've had a look at the Surf seats, and they look the business. Wouldn't mind the Recaros, but not too fussed - so long as they're comfy I'm happy.

If the 4runner seats are anything like the hilux ones... then a few rusty nails are probably more comfy :)

Not sure if mine are the recaros... but the features for the driver side:

Adjustable Head rest angle and Height
Lumbar Support
Adjustable side thingies
Adjustable base angle.

The thing i like about the passanger side is the fact that is slides forwards, which is quite handy in the xcab :)

The surf ones didnt. Drivers side did, needed to drill a hole because the passenger side rails on the surf seats were smaller.

So if 4runner seats are the same as surf, 4runner seats wont bolt straigt in.

The front of the surf seats mounted properly btw, it was just the rear rail on th passenger that needed new holes. So no real modding needed.. :)
