rim {internal beadlock}

Post by thunder »

would it be safe to weld up the hole from the internal beadlock?

1 of my internal beadlock rims is a bit buckled and i would like to swap it with the spare but dont have a beadlock on the spare. i would like to plug the hole so i still have a spare. weld it or find a plug for it..

WHEN I HAD MY RIMS CUT AND FLIPED THEY WELDED THE HOLE IN HIT IT WITH A GRINDER AND REPEATED THE PROCESS A COUPLE OF THIME TO BE SURE. BEFORE I PUT THE TYRES BACK ON I JUST WIPED SOME BOSTIC SEAL N FLEX OVER IT ON THE INSIDE. THEY HAVENT LEAKED AT ALL. I SAY WELD AWAY :)

the dude who cut and flipped my rims just welded the holes.... one of the welds didn't penetrate enough (I guess) and leaked a bit. I stuck some slime in there a few months ago and it hasn't leaked yet ;)

Why not put a second valve in, quicker to air down. Its only a spare.

They did that on screwys and they leaked so he pulled them out and welded them up.
