I gave you my opinion and offered to help make the presenters better. I’m still waiting for Simon to send me a mail. Obviously he doesn’t listen to people’s opinions and this is what frustrates people.

as for all this bitchyness.... I am of the same view as p76 rangie with regards all the advertising and hence no longer watch the show... but I dont come on here moaning about it..

I knew a guy once that said "I don't come up with solutions, I only come up with problems" He was good for nothing

Go with the free speech. Critisize and give positive ideas on what you would like to see. I hope and trust this doesn't have to stay warm & fuzzy. No-one wants a shit fight, but hey surely you can have an opinion that differs to someone else. Same with toyota Vs nissan - I don't care, as long as it has two diffs. P76Rangies comments brought to light issues I had not thought about, right or wrong (there is no answer).

However I don't consider it moaning, just positive discussion. I think its better to say why you don't watch it, at least it gives them a chance to change it, if it's in their planning direction.

It creates a balanced discussion.

cheers

people are so touchy i was only using eddie as an example i surppose if you did email him he would have someone being paid to respond to mail not having to do a whole show by himself plus you guys must only watch ABC if you dont like ads during tv shows ads help pay for the shows costs etc some people just get on the therad and bag the show(with incorrect facts) etc the topic title is 4wd tv news and as far as i can see it was start to let people know who LIKE the show and WANT to watch can be informed not to get on and keep bagging

Patrolman, the M&M engineering section was a bit more than just asking him where he worked. The difference between the jeep jambo in Aus and NZ is that the Aus one is put on by a club and anyone can turn up. The NZ one was invitation only from the Jeep Company. I do not think that the Aus one went on about the electric seats etc, in the new jeeps and how good jeeps were. The rock crawling section went for have the time given to non-commercial content. It was the same rock section that had appeared on a number of other shows. It became boring after the first couple of times. In regard to the show, I have not watched at all this season, and only a couple of times last season. I only watched it because it had been claimed that I was not informed. The last time I mentioned about the amount of adverts, Mudtoy said that I had it wrong. So this time I recorded it and got the right times. Don't worry, I am not planning to watch anymore shows.

p76rangie,

I think you have got issues for whatever reasons. I just counted them and 1/4 of all your posts are trying to bag out 4wd tv (Most of these posts have been moved to a different section.

So whats your name anyway?? You never did say.

P76 , you need to get out more !!
you actually sat there with a stopwatch & timed the show ????

try timing a show on 7 , 9 or 10 !!
most 1/2 hr show,s only go for about 16-17 mins anyway !!
ta-daaa , the rest is commercials & advertising other shows !!

Strange Rover, I think you need to count. What you are saying is that there are 30 posts from me getting stick into 4WD TV. Please provide dates for these 30 posts. As I have stated previously, there would be lucky to be 10 posts that have any sort of negative comment on 4WD TV. I actually liked the first series of 4x4 TV with the two sitting on the couch. 10 times more 4WD owners do not watch 4wd TV than do.

Moose, No I did not sit there with a stopwatch. The DVD recorder has a timer on it. Just recorded the show and then played it back. I do get out lots and that is why I do not watch the show. I think the people that watch the show and those that average 8 posts a day on this site need to get out a little more. The reason I listed the times is that last time I said that the show contained 70% commercials, I was canned by Mudtoy and others as being wrong. This time I made sure I had the facts and it was 80% commercial content.

But anyone that likes watching adverts, it is your life. However it is not mine.

there does seem to be a funnny standard that if you are going to give feedback thhen it can only be positive. Feedback needs to be both for any type of change to occur. Don't tae negative feedbac as a personal attac etc it is there to used as a tool to improve the show. 4WDTV is doing a good job as they are stilll very new to thhe TV game. Therre are things that do need fixing to mae it a great show and if the producers of the show can't see that (although I believe they do know this as evidenced by the steady improvement of the show) it is to their detrement.

it has been said if you don't like the show don't watch it fair enough. But also if you don't like what has been said don't listen or maybe use what has been said and fix it

Couple of points...Jeep Jamborees are a world-wide event, and I'm tipping pretty much all of the get support from Jeep...I know we couldn't have put on the recent Vic one without their help.

As for invitiation only...no...the only condition (which was mentioned last night) was you need a Jeep...anyone in any Jeep can come.

In all honestly, these guys aren't making $$$$ out of the show...don't you think its fair that if Jeep gives them a free Jeep for the weekend, they deserve a plug?

And as for who they spoke to...well Paul was the event director in Melbourne for our Jambo, so they spoke to him...if Jeep were running the event in NZ then they'd speak to a Jeep rep, and which better one to speak to than the boss.

As has been said, if you don't like it, don't watch it...I don't watch half the crap my other half watches, but I don't sit there and bag it because I don't like it...clearly she does, and clearly in this case lots of people like this show.

Don't get me wrong, I agree there's a hell of a lot of product placement in the show...but you know what, I'm tipping that without it they'd be no show, so if I have to watch a few minutes of ads to be able to continue watching a show, I'll do it. And you know what else, I'm pretty darn sure that with I can pony up the $$$ I'll support guys like Colin at Brawn.
Apparently people think I'm too patronising (that means I treat them like they’re stupid).

Strange Rover, do not let facts get in the way of a good story. I have 3 postings critical of 4WD TV. 2 in this thread and one in another. I posted 3 times on pricing of their DVDs and twice I have been critical of Mudtoy. Therefore if you combine them all together it is only 8, of which only 3 realted to negative comments about the show itself. So how many people have you bagged on this site. You are nearly up to my total in this thread alone.

why does he need to say who he is that is the beauty/curse of internet forums. Would it make any difference if he said he was Joe Bloggs or whatever.

Strange Rover is I think unbiased in the vast majority of his posts, which is very hard I'd imagine as the main dude on a forum

Strange Rover, you wonder why I will not give my name, just read the posts. After only critising 4WD TV twice in 116 posts, I get this from Ruff "Almost every reply you have made on this site has in some way had a dig at 4wd TV or Simon from 4wd TV. I dont know what your problem with them is and i dont realy care but if you continue to reply the way you have been i will take further action which could see you banned from this site". After 3 posts I get this from you "I think you have got issues for whatever reasons. I just counted them and 1/4 of all your posts are trying to bag out 4wd tv (Most of these posts have been moved to a different section." I am also getting fan mail from Mud Up Pig on a daily basis. The 4WD TV is worse than the Mafia. You say anything against them and your a marked man/woman.

My first post I made on this site regarding TV was actually stating that I like the show, but suggested a couple of what I thought was constructive comments. That went down really well.

I had a tongue in check go at 4WD TV a couple of days ago, but referred them to some video clips that I thought were excellent. I thought they may pick up some pointers from the clips. Mud Up Pig made some smart comments, to which I replied. There were a few further posts between us. Patrol Man requested all the posts be deleted, including the direction to the video clips and of course Ruff did so.

Commenting on 4WD TV can get you killed amongst this group.

Yep - that is the beauty of internet forums. You can get on here and express your views.

But when sombody gets on here anonymously and starts throwing mud it comes across as being very piss weak.

Id imagine p76rangie has got some personal issues with Simon which is why he chases him around this board. Which is also why he wont tell anybody his name.

On one hand we have got Simon and Miranda and 4wd TV. These guys are working their arses off promoting 4wding and 4wd sport from all over the place and doing really good things for the industry. They got their names out there, they got the faces out there and they are really having at go at trying to make something big happen.

And then we got p76range. Some nameless mind sitting behind an anonymous keyboard throwing mud from where nobody can see him.

For shyt sake guys ive forgotten what this thread started as
Me myself have found myself to busy ( And forgetfull) to watch the new series but i say farenough to the adds if they need them to keep the show going then bring them on cause i might be blind but i dont see anyone else trying to create - Air a show containing forby stuff and every off-road event i have attended wether it be winch trucks rock crawling or what ever event contains cars with 2 diffs I have seen them there filming
So to p76 rangie if you dont like it then fuck off and stop trying to destroy a good thread where some people are getting good info about when they might get to catch the show in there state stick to your number counting at home and stop trying to put people off something they cant reply to for they have not seen it and also if you can do better then go and do it and we will coment on how shit of a job you do
Also to everyone else that jumped on the bandwagon with the to or fro grow up. The againsts to p76 only stir the tool up more and then the fors give the dick a feeling of a big man so people can we just cut the shit
and just enjoy for once we as a community are actually getting something for us ( a tv show)
