Couple of points...Jeep Jamborees are a world-wide event, and I'm tipping pretty much all of the get support from Jeep...I know we couldn't have put on the recent Vic one without their help.
As for invitiation only...no...the only condition (which was mentioned last night) was you need a Jeep...anyone in any Jeep can come.
In all honestly, these guys aren't making $$$$ out of the show...don't you think its fair that if Jeep gives them a free Jeep for the weekend, they deserve a plug?
And as for who they spoke to...well Paul was the event director in Melbourne for our Jambo, so they spoke to him...if Jeep were running the event in NZ then they'd speak to a Jeep rep, and which better one to speak to than the boss.
As has been said, if you don't like it, don't watch it...I don't watch half the crap my other half watches, but I don't sit there and bag it because I don't like it...clearly she does, and clearly in this case lots of people like this show.
Don't get me wrong, I agree there's a hell of a lot of product placement in the show...but you know what, I'm tipping that without it they'd be no show, so if I have to watch a few minutes of ads to be able to continue watching a show, I'll do it. And you know what else, I'm pretty darn sure that with I can pony up the $$$ I'll support guys like Colin at Brawn.
Apparently people think I'm too patronising (that means I treat them like they’re stupid).
