Just picked myself up a comprehensive body lift kit at 50mm for my 77 and want to know who has taken their RR to machinery? I will be and have no problem doing so but there seems to be much discussion on this website about body lifts and not much chat on the legal issues.
Any feedback would be invaluble.

2 inch body lift and engineers
Moderator: Micka
Come on guys, 30 hits and not 1 response Re Body lift
Fellas, surely someone has an opinion on engineers and body lifts?? Hasn't anyone had this done or not done???
I know a few people with rangies lifted from 25-50mm who haven't had them engineered (but probably could without problems).
If the lift has used metal blocks you shouldn't have problems.
There is a lot of info re lifts and legality which has been posted previously. Maybe try doing a search.

In Queensland body lifts are approved on a vehicle by vehicle basis. What you will need to do is submit a 'permission to modify' application to Queensland Transport. You should be able to get one of these forms from your nearest customer service center or I can fax you one.
On this you will need to list vehicle details and a brief on the modification. I usually attach a separate letter identifying all the area's that could have been affected by the lift (steering shaft/brake lines/fuel lines etc) and how they have been accomodated. I can email you a sample if you like.
If it is approved you will be notified in writing. This written approval should be kept with the vehicle to prevent those annoying roadside arguments.
