Range Rover Q's

Hi,

I am looking at converting my Suzuki Sierra to run Range Rover Axles and suspension. I know very little about the rangie stuff so I hope you can help me out.

Does anyone have a diagram of the chassis showing dimensions for I think 87-93 model with coil springs? I could be wrong here but from what little info I found it seems these are the years I am looking for. Well whatever models run the A-frame in the rear.

How wide are the axles for this model?
How strong are the axles? I am planning on running 35" tyres, will this be ok?

Any weak points in the drivetrain?

Whats the wheel stud pattern? Have to find me some wheels too. Anyone have a set of 15x10 rims to suit?

Anything else I should be asking that I cant think of right now?

Search is your friend.

It seems early rangie axles are quite weak and the toy conversion seems to be the most popular fix. You would definatly need to beef up the axles to run 35's.

A-frames where used from the start to some time in the 90's.

Wheel stud pattern is unique to landrover. ie. toy or nissan wheels cannot be used.

My opinion would be to start with a different set of axles. Or modify the rangie stuff from the start. Just about everything about beefing up the drivtrain can be found either here or on pirate though.

i think if they were maxi-drive or macnamara fitted they would easyly handel 35's especialy under a zuk frame and body. there are heaps of after market stuff for rover axles

If you are interested in sum maxi drive upgraded axles (rear with locker) i have them currently but am looking at swaping in sum toyota gear so PM me if your interested.

You want to make sure you get pre 1990 gear. From 1990 was the upgrade which had much weaker CV's.

I have front and rear maxi's complete in housings that im trying to offload, pm me if your interested. I imagine they would be strong enough under a suzi.

I think ill just look for some Toyota running gear. Seems to be better and should be cheaper in the long run.
