yep, i thought it was just the axle oil seal, easy 1/2 hr job ... HA!!!
Undid wheel nuts and the whole axle slid straight out, oh well time for new bearing too i guess

Mine would not have been removed in >5 years, and the side that was the brake cylinder was leaking was clogged up like that, where as the other side that was dry had no shit in it at all.
Like it probably is mud like you said, but it really looks like a brake cylinder leak hey.
