Great work by the organisers and everyone that made it happen.

Amazing to hear that Cheezy got a drive as well.
You guys have gone above and beyond to promote WErock and get things off the ground.

I have a suggestion for interstate teams to be able to compete.
It would be very cool if you guys had a buggy interstate guys could hire and have a go at the event in.
The same way Cheezy and Guts flew up there and got to drive.

Shane and I would be keen to do this as well.
And I am sure there are plenty of other teams out there that would be interested.
It adds a wildcard entrant to the comp and means you get to see an invitational team every time it is held.

Perhaps there could be one wildcard team at each event from a different state to the one the event is being held in.
Not sure how the finances would work, but it could work on the basis that if you break the buggy you pay for the repairs.
The event sponsors might be able to help the visiting team pay for airfares.
I am sure people always have a spare bed, and transport to the event is not hard.
Or worst case scenario the visiting team has to pay all costs. But that would still work.

Not sure if it is a realistic idea, but after hearing Cheezy raving about it for hours on end it sounds like it would be an awesome concept until things really get off the ground.
And when Cheezy gets his Victorian events off the ground the same could apply.

Just a thought as I personally would love to build and drive a buggy for comps but there is just no where to drive it and no comps down in Vic.

Maybe we can talk about this further at TT.
Three weeks.....scary!! :D

cheers

Something like this could be possible. Im probably going to build another buggy just for the course designer to use the test the obstacles so we can always stick in invite driver into this - the same way as cheeze drove the lockless.

It would be pretty cool to have a rental buggy!
Only prob would be that you cant really practice driving it till on the big day :? .

Sam,

Awesome to hear that.
I know myself and Shane will definitely be behind it. Let us know if there is any way we can help out, and if/when the time comes please send us an invite as we would love to be able to get into WErock and compete.

I think the moment there is some more comps closer to Vic, we will be building a buggy.
The parts list is already taking shape. muhahaha

ausyota - I think that is half the fun and it makes the invitational team a real wildcard as no one knows how they will perform. I think it would be good for the spirit of the sport and also for the crowds.

You could take it a step further if it was a success and extend the invite out to someone from the USA and vice versa.

Just my thoughts anyways.
If there is a way we can make this happen it would be very cool.

cheers

I think thats part of the fun! And i don't think that they would expect to win anyway. I think most people that would be keen on doing this would use it as a stepping stone to see if its going to be something that they enjoy and could spend their money on!

In Saying that -

Sam built the Lockless and with NO seat time won the first event.
I built the Jekyll and with no seat time won the first event.
Ruff built the Budgie and with no seat time won the first event.

So i suppose if someone pulls it off and has a blinder than theres no reason that they couldn't win! :)
