Thought my vehicle was 'stock' till I got it serviced last weekend and was told that we have Rancho adjustable shockers all 'round.
Did some research online, found out how to adjust them... voila, firmer ride. See, I was just about to consider booking the vehicle in for a full suspension upgrade because the coils look skinny to me, and there was a load of body roll on the highway, and very soft gushy suspension offroad which didn't provide much 'feel'.
Seems better now on the road, yet to go off road, but was wondering about your thoughts.

Did you not think it was strange to have a knob/dial on the bottom of the shocks...........standard 
Thet aren't to bad (they are over rated though). I have these ATM and will be changing them out soon. They bend easily on the front when you do a descent amount of exctreme offroading.

So they ain't that bad.
We'll be carrying quite a bit in the car over Easter, on an 'expedition' to Croajingalong National Park, so can't wait to get on the road tomorrow night.
I really thought the whole set up was too 'soft' until I dialed it up. I had to take it up to maximum, ie. number 9 to get it to where I wanted it, and with the load on this week, we'll really see how good they are.
Planning to do the off-road track from Wingan Inlet to Mallacoota maybe on Friday morning without load on the roof.
Newbie question here would be, how much travel can you get out of the 9000s? Will I need to change them if I want to boost height with new springs?

depends on how long they are, they come in a variety of lengths and diferent valving (Soft/hardness) too. Probably better to check the suitability of length when you do the springs

how good is this track? we were in the area not long ago and wanted to try it but ran out of time. is it steep and difficult?
rancho 9ks come in many different models with varying lengths. chances are that if you use taller springs, you will need longer shocks.
