Was having a look at the Mazda KL engine 90 amp alternator and I reckon it should fit but noticed it had a 2 wire plug while my Vit has a 3 wire plug. Anybody done this swap know what to do wiring wise?

after killing vitara alternator 5 or 6, possibly even 7 last wekend. i think i need to do the same.

ive got myself a 65 amp pajero one, didnt realise i needed to connect up other wires
a sparky mate said i only needed the main power wire coming off, maybe diff alternators need different things.

Go for a Falcon EL 105 amp alternator--so straight forward! 5 minutes with a flat file inside one leg of the alternator and it fell onto the Zook bracket. Replace the 20 amp original fusible link with a 50 amp one and you're cruisin'. This unit has an electronic regulator which is a lot more clever about how it recharges the battery(s). I have 700w out front and it copes easily. Good luck.

Re-winding is good but the actual working capacity is about 22.5% and they will only comfortably charge with the engine over 2000RPM.
Also they can suffer from limited life span after doing this.
As for the brackets, not 100% sure about sierra blocks, but I know it will work in a vit.

PROCOMP -> What more can I say?
Mine is a Mitsubishi but many were Bosch. They were 105 amp. or 108 amp. respectively. they come with a multigroove pulley but any self-respecting sparky will be able to find a a V- belt pulley to suit. Mine needed to have a collar machined off the back-5 minute job! Don't worry about 80 amp alternators, go for the biggest you can. Winches and a bank of Lightforces suck current big time! I paid $90.00 and that is typical.
