I just fitted my Rockstomper rope today. I bought the size they recommended for my winch, but after stretching I could have fitted more rope on the spool.

the prices from the USA at the moment are very good... you will not find it cheaper locally - but it is up to you whether you want to import yourself or buy locally

go look around on some of the US based forums... there are usually vendors there that have specials on...
but as I said... your must decide if you want to import yourself or buy off the shelf local..

I bought mine direct from Rockstomper and had a mate bring it back from the US for me. 5/16x100 total cost AU$200. Now it’s fitted I wish I had bought the 5/16x125.

mmm. i have 100ft of 5/16 arriving soon as well... the xd9000 slow mount I have only holds 100ft of 5/16 wire so i thought would be a good amount... but in hindsight I should have also bought 125 due to the compression of the rope...
oh well... will have to keep using the extension straps

just give them a call... easiest way .. and you can arrange for the stuff to come via US Postal Service.. this is usually cheaper than a freight company..

Samson Rope manufacture the rope http://www.samsonrope.com/home/industri ... strand.cfm

Their dealer locator lists Bullivants (many outlets) as one of several dealers in Australia.
