No idea. on whats on your mates unless viewing it ??

But most aftermarket ones use syphon system and only rear gauge.

A couple use transfer pump and switch.

Mine is not factory and has a aftermarket guage for the extra tank, a switch operates a solenoid in the engine bay to switch between the 2 tanks. They are filled by a"Y" neck filler, when you put the pump nozzle in you can point the nozzle forward or backward depending on which tank you want to fill. The fuel return from the carby always goes to the main tank though wich may overflow into the second tank if it overfills while the second tank is selected.
Check your mounting of the second tank, I found mine to be just resting on the chassis rails, and so the tank would slide against the propshaft at times and break the U-bolts clamping it to the crosspipe.
